SCREENING AT UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA (FEATURING DR. CALEB LACK AND DR. PETER BOGHOSSIAN)

  • RADKE FINE ARTS THEATRE (CENTER FOR TRANSFORMATIVE LEARNING) 100 North University Drive Edmond, OK, 73034 United States

Please join us for an exclusive screening of the new documentary "Reasons to Believe" hosted by the Psi Chi chapter of the University of Central Oklahoma's Psychology Department.

Reasons To Believe is a thought-provoking documentary by filmmaker Ben Fama Jr., that explores the psychology and science of belief and why we believe in things that may not match up with reality. Facilitated by leaders in the fields of science, philosophy, neuroscience, moral reasoning, psychology, perception, memory formation, and indoctrination, these experts answer a variety of thought provoking questions and provide tangible structure to the definition and creation of belief in the human brain. Fama asks the question: Why do we believe?

Starring noted psychologists, philosophers, and scientists, including Michael Shermer, Peter Boghossian, Jennifer Whitson, Caleb Lack and Chad Woodruff, the film is a journey into understanding why we believe in what we do.

After the film, stick around for a Q&A with the director Ben Fama Jr., producer Mesa Fama, and one of the stars of the film, Dr. Caleb Lack.

Admission is free for UCO students, $10 for everyone else, with proceeds benefitting the local chapter of Psi Chi, the international honor society of psychology.
